Beautiful 'Suminagashi' Japanese traditional hand-marbleing Washi Note Card, made with printmaking Washi paper

 

Size: 5.9 x 3.93 in. (15 x 10cm),  

Material: 70% Kozo, 30% Wood pulp,  Water-based pigment ink.

 

Each is uniquely hand printed. No other of the same patterns. Random selection is left to the seller.

 

Handmade in Higashi-Chichibu Village, Saitama, Japan,

 

Note: Since the cards are impossible to be reproduced in the same color, we will try selecting color group types upon your requests, and we appreciate you for entrusting us with the choices.

    Suminagashi

    Suminagashi  墨 流 し or “floating ink” is the process of marbling plain paper with water and ink to transform it into something vibrant and colorful. It originated in Japan as early as the 12th century.  The ink is dropped in the vat one print at a time!
